BasePair Design Project
Problem Statement:
BasePair, an NGS DNA data analysis company, came to us for help with its onboarding process. When individuals received a one-on-one walkthrough explaining how the product worked, they had a high conversion rate. 80% of users who receive a personalized phone demo from Basepair purchase a subscription. However, without personalized help, many users found it overwhelming and confusing to learn, resulting in fewer sign ups. How can we help create a self-guided onboarding process and redesign BasePair's dashboard to ease confusion?
Background
Basepair is an NGS-DNA sequencing data analysis SaaS product for genomics researchers and scientists that provides the tools to manipulate, analyze and share their data with others, maintain a clear and accessible audit trail of their analysis, and export high quality graphs and charts for publishing.
Goals
Our goals were to identify critical pain points new users experience as trial users, determine if the same pain points persist for existing users, and find out if trial users see the full value of Basepair.
My role
I worked on the prototype as well as assisting with user research and usability testing.
